SEND Empowerment Group is dedicated to empowering parents, guardians, and carers of children and young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
We provide both practical and theoretical knowledge to help families confidently support their children while also protecting their own mental health and wellbeing.
Our aim is to equip caregivers with the tools they need to support their children across key areas including:

Our Workshops
We deliver in-person workshops designed to provide practical strategies and support for families, especially while waiting for specialist services.
Speech, Language & Communication

Practical tools to support children while waiting for NHS specialist support.

ADHD Support

Strategies to manage behaviour and support development at home.
Anxiety & Depression

Supporting the emotional wellbeing of both children and their caregivers, including those experiencing anxiety and depression, by providing practical tools and support while awaiting NHS services.
Health & Wellbeing

Covering nutrition, exercise, and conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

Occupational Therapy

Supporting independence and daily life skills.

STEM Engineering Workshops (Ages 7–11)

Financial Empowerment

This workshop helps parents and carers build practical skills in budgeting, accessing benefits, updating CVs, and job searching.

Empowerment Support Group for Parents & Carers

This provides a safe and supportive space for those who may feel isolated, overwhelmed, or frustrated. It offers opportunities to connect with others, share experiences, and build a sense of community through peer support and networking.

Prayer and Bible Studies (free)

These free workshops offer spiritual and practical support for parents and carers seeking guidance, direction, and comfort from the Bible. They are especially suited to those who may not feel comfortable attending a mainstream church group, providing a welcoming and inclusive space for reflection and discussion.

Self Defence Training for Girls

This workshop supports parents and carers of young girls, teenage girls, and young female adults with additional needs. It equips parents and carers with practical ways to help their children stay safe, including physical and non-physical self-defence skills, while also promoting confidence and self-belief. No level of physical fitness is required to take part.
